I was pleased to read in the Greenville News March 24, 2008 that consideration is being given to using the Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital campus as a crisis stabilization unit for the Upstate's mentally ill, as well as a residential alcohol and drug treatment center. It seems to me that the need is great and that ABMH might be a great fit. What needs to happen to make this a reality? What else is going on to expand mental health resources in the Upstate?
